In a statement posted to Facebook on Thursday night, Graham wrote, "Christianity Today released an editorial stating that President Trump should be removed from office, and they invoked my father's name (I suppose to try to bring legitimacy to their statements), so I feel it is important for me to respond."

The right-wing pols and pundits have repeated statements about the Democrats trying to cancel/overturn/undo the election results - which has reinforced the idea that removing Donald from office will give that office to Hillary.

Trump's present popularity with the GOP right is anchored solely on his ability to give them what they want, whether it's ideological fanatics as federal judges, an unabashedly nativist political agenda, or a mere boost to fellow Republicans' political careers with a semi-coherent personal endorsement.

But if certain insiders in the Beltway media are to be believed, few if any people Republicans or conservatives actually like or respect Trump, and few if any of them will ever say a kind word about him behind closed doors. Rather, they'll quietly but disdainfully acknowledge -- off the record or on condition of anonymity, of course -- that he is both an unrepentant creep and a raving lunatic.

Any show of public support for Trump is simply that -- a show, a performance, with nothing else behind it. All that unites Republicans and their white wingbat base is their mutual obsequious deference to the vast power and authority of the U.S. presidency, and a shared hatred of everything Democrat and liberal.

The day Trump leaves the White House for good, his Potemkin village will implode and collapse. And when he finally departs this earthly scene, his funeral will likely be the 21st century equivalent of the final Roman Catholic rites that were conducted for the internment of the late L.A. oil baron Edward L. Doheny, Sr. at the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in June 1935.

That is, the proceedings will be grandiose and extravagant to the point of vulgar and garish, as arranged and overseen by Trump's surviving family members, including his two ex-wives, soon-to-be third ex-spouse and his future 30-year-old widow. Standing in dutiful attendance will be his former cabinet members, and outside the police perimeter established on the street by metal barricades, the entire spectacle will be gawked at by the morbidly curious.

But to be blunt, there will likely be very few persons who will truly lament his passing. And for the remaining handful of rabid Trump partisans who will mourn him, that sorrow will probably be the very first thing passing for original thought to enter their thick skulls in the miserable entirety of their sorry-assed lives.

And thus, the damning conclusions of Christianity Today regarding Donald J. Trump, a true American original -- that is, a preening and clueless trust fund baby who was born on third base and will go to his grave still insisting that he hit a triple -- will inevitably prevail in public opinion.

According to Nuzzi, Giuliani promptly called her after reading the first five paragraphs of the story, to exclaim, "It's useless to talk to you. You're a lost cause," and in particular was upset that she claimed he contradicted his claim that he had no business ties to Ukraine:

... about being "more Jewish than George Soros" serve only to remind me that this is the same guy who, while serving as New York mayor, once impetuously announced during a nationally televised press conference back in 2000 that he was leaving his wife (for another woman, as it later turned out), while she and their two then-teenaged children were watching that same broadcast at home in Gracie Mansion.

Sadly, Giuliani shares with Trump all the classic hallmarks of a sociopathic personality disorder - egotistical, preening, grandiose, shameless, manipulative, charismatic and temperamental, with absolutely no personal regard for other people's concerns, feelings or well being.

This tactic of delay could be part of a larger plan.

Imagine you are a Republican Senator.  Like for instance Mitch.  You are not a stupid person.  You see Trump unraveling more and more by the day.  By the hour.  You know this will not get better.  It will get worse.

You have seen threats by Trump to challenge the results of the election no matter how much he loses by.  You find this completely believable.  You see his supporters eating it up and wanting more.  Threatening violence if he is defeated.  Do a google.  It's happening.  

You also see he will be absolutely toxic for your party.  Resulting in an almost certain loss of control of the senate and the literal destruction of the party for at least a generation.

What do you do.  If you are Mitch.

Well, one thing you might do is, while trumpeting your undying support fealty, quietly "allow" a process you really have control over develop in a way that will result in totally damning fact witnesses to testify in the senate.  All while saying how terrible you think it is.  How unfair and unjust.  

You might even try to time this production so that while it's happening there will be one court decision after another, each worse than the last for Trump.

So that what ends up happening is he is revealed as so completely and undeniably corrupt the senate literally has no choice but to remove him.

With the Chief Justice in charge.  Not Mitch.

Just something I have been thinking about.  I really think there are forces at work and behind the scene alliances happening we won't kniw about for years.  

Here's what I know, Trump is unraveling.  You would need to be a complete idiot to not see it.  Mitch is not an idiot.  Several other senators are not.  Something has to be done or the country is literally going to explode.  I have to believe as much as I hate them they do not want the republic destroyed.  Even more they don't want history to call them the white collar brown shirts who helped it happen.
