Trump Nominates 10 Conservatives For Federal Court Judgeships

Donald Trump has nominated ten people to serve as federal judges. All are conservatives.

Not a single criminal defense attorney was nominated. Several are long term prosecutors. A few were law clerks to Justice Clarence Thomas or deceased Justice Anton Scalia. Some only have state court or academic experience. [More..]

From the Alliance for Justice, via the New York Times:

“The Trump administration has made clear its intention to benefit from Republican obstructionism and to pack the federal courts with ultraconservatives given a stamp of approval by the Federalist Society,” said Nan Aron, the president of the Alliance for Justice, referring to the conservative legal group. “We’ll be scrutinizing the records of these nominees very carefully.”

There were 220 federal judicial vacancies when Trump got his desk in the Oval Office. Even if Trump is impeached or forced to resign, these judges will be with us for life.
